Stranraer V Albion at Stair Park - Match Preview

Midfield duo missing for Stranraer

Stranraer will be without midfield pair Chris Aitken and Ryan Borris as they look to climb off the foot of the Second Division table at the expense of visitors Albion Rovers.

Aitken has undergone leg surgery, while Borris with a thigh strain.

Striker Armand One is available after signing a short-term contract following a successful trial and fellow new recruit Nicky Phinn is in line to make his home debut.

Stair Park boss Stephen Aitken said: "This is a huge game and one that we will look to win and get off bottom spot.

"We are going into it on the back of two unlucky and late defeats in away games but we can be pleased with how we played against both Ayr and Arbroath."

Albion Rovers have strengthened their pool for the vital clash by bringing in midfielder Bradley Halsman and striker Christie Elliot from Partick on month-long loan deals.

They are expected to be handed debuts.

Manager Todd Lumsden said: "We were unlucky to lose to Brechin in midweek, especially as we were winning at half-time, and the half ended too early.

"If we can repeat the first-half performance from that game for an entire 90 minutes at Stranraer then I'm sure we will do well.

"They will be smarting from losing an injury-time goal at Arbroath and look to use that as the motivation to get above us in the table, but this is a massive game for us as well."
