Stranraer V Ayr at Stair Park - Match Preview

One missing for Stranraer

Stranraer miss only striker Armand One, who has a hamstring problem, as they look to move into eighth place at the expense of visitors Ayr.

The Blues defeated Albion Rovers 3-2 on Wednesday whilst Ayr were losing 5-1 at home to Queen of the South and Stair Park manager Stephen Aitken is warning his players to be aware of a side that will be out to make amends.

Aitken said: "That defeat will have hurt Ayr. They will be out to show that they are better than that and also that they should not be involved in relegation issues.

"We will need to be ready to face a very determined side but we have beaten them here before and will be looking to do so again."

Ayr manager Mark Roberts will delay naming his side in the hope that John Robertson, Adam Hunter and Robbie Crawford all shake off knocks to feature.

Martyn Campbell and Michael McGowan remain out through long-term injuries with Roberts determined to face the challenge of lifting the Honest Men from eighth-place head on.

Roberts said: "We are under-performing and it is very much a learning process for me just a few months into the job but we are just getting on with things.

"Defeating Stranraer and the world will feel better and if we can show what we showed against Alloa recently we will do okay.

"Queen of the South in midweek was poor but we have to put that behind us and go again."
