Stranraer V Queen of South at Stair Park - Match Preview

Stranraer will have striker Michael Moore available after an Achilles injury for their derby clash with Queen of the South.

Defender David MacGregor's knee problem keeps him out, while manager Keith Knox is looking for a much more mature performance from his bottom-of-the-table side in the wake of last weekend's 6-2 defeat to East Fife.

Knox said: "The entire team were poor last weekend defensively and while this is a tough game to bounce back in, I'm looking for us to cut out the mistakes we made against East Fife.

"We need to work hard, remain organised and adopt a sleeves-rolled-up approach to stopping Queen of the South dominate the game."

Second Division leaders Queen of the South miss only striker Kevin Smith through a long-term groin injury.

Palmerston Park manager Allan Johnston has warned his men to be wary of the Stair Park side.

He said: "They had a decent home record until losing to East Fife last weekend and they will want to re-establish that as soon as possible.

"They have good strikers and we'll need to be at our best again as every week we are at the top of the table and undefeated we become a bigger target for sides to aim at.

"We scrapped well to get a win over Alloa last Saturday and we'll need those qualities again against Stranraer."
