Stranraer V Stenhousemuir at Stair Park - Match Preview

Mac not back

Stranraer entertain Stenhousemuir and defender David MacGregor continues to be absent due to a knee injury.

Meanwhile, manager Stephen Aitken has a selection dilemma to solve over the goalkeepers' starting jersey.

Regular shot-stopper David Mitchell is available after a one game suspension, however Colin Stewart played well as a trialist for the Blues on Tuesday night with the experienced 33-year-old keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Arbroath.

Aitken said: "I will decide closer to kick off but I have the happy problem of having two experienced goalkeepers to choose from.

"We are at home where we have been strong and a win takes us further away from the bottom and in amongst the teams in mid-table so 3 points has to be our target."

Stenhousemuir intend to announce their arrival as play-off contenders with victory however striker Stewart Kean will miss out due to a calf injury.

Everyone else in the Warriors squad is available to manager Martyn Corrigan.

"Our results have improved recently and winning this game puts us right on the shoulder of the teams going for the play-offs," he said.

"It is no co-incidence that our best results have come when we have had only one or two players out as (opposed to) the four or five we saw earlier this season.

"It will not be a case of just turning up and winning as Stranraer have really picked up their form recently especially at home. They have players that can hurt teams so we need to be on our guard."
