Honours even at Balmoor

Peterhead played out a 1-1 draw with Stranraer in an evenly-fought encounter at the Balmoor Stadium.

The visitors got off to a flying start when Craig Malcolm netted his 10th goal of the season in the first minute, striking home from just inside the box.

Peterhead levelled from the spot just before the interval, Rory McAllister converted after Graeme Sharp was brought down by Scott Taggart.

McAllister tested goalkeeper David Mitchell shortly after the restart but he comfortably collected the long-range drive.

The hosts went close to going ahead on 70 minutes, McAllister again involved, his effort coming back off a post.

Second-half substitute Dennis Wyness had a chance to win it for the Blue Toon in the 90th minute but his lobbed effort went narrowly over the bar.
