Stranraer are summit special

Late goals from substitute Michael Moore and Stephen Stirling saw Stranraer come from behind in dramatic fashion to beat bottom-of-the-table Peterhead 2-1 and storm to the top of the Third Division.

Stranraer headed into the game at Stair Park on the back of a thumping 6-0 league victory of East Stirling the previous weekend.

But much to everyone's surprise it was the away side that took the lead in the 58th minute through Bryan Deasley's delightful 12-yard curler.

As Peterhead looked to record their first league win since August, up popped Moore in the 80th minute to drill the ball home from the edge of the penalty area.

And, deep into stoppage time, Stirling sent the home crowd wild when he blasted in from 20 yards for the winner.

With Annan's match against Elgin postponed and Alloa only drawing with Berwick, the Stair Park men moved top on goal difference.
